Footprints Tours is the number one tour provider on TripAdvisor and provides a variety of different tour packages, suitable for any budget. We have spend the last six years building up a reputation for providing fun, educational and interesting tours lead by our student guides.

Our combined Oxford Bike and Walking Tour brings you the best of two worlds. The pedestrian element of the tour takes us not only into the scenic environs of Christ Church Meadows, but also inside the colleges themselves. Meanwhile, the Bike Tour element gives you an exhilarating ride around this ancient city and its gorgeous nearby green spaces. We’ll visit some of Oxford’s oldest colleges, and also touch on the quirkier side of the University’s history. The tour will also enter the Bodleian Library, the beating heart of Oxford University. Established in 1602, this marvellous institution combines historic mystique with cutting-edge modern technology. The bike element of the tour takes us to the centre of the University, Radcliffe Square. With its imposing central chamber, the Radcliffe Camera, this is perhaps Oxford’s most iconic location. There, we’ll see the sculpture that inspired the Chronicles of Narnia, and discuss the entrance exams at nearby All Souls, Oxford’s most prestigious college. We’ll also admire the grotesques (they’re not quite the same as gargoyles – book the tour to find out why!). A quick ride down to the southern part of Oxford brings us to Magdalen College, former home of Oscar Wilde and C S Lewis. This area also gives us a lovely view of the Botanic Gardens.A bike tour of Oxford that also takes you right inside the University buildings!Heading north, we’ll discuss the Examination Schools, and give you the inside story on those infamous difficult Oxford exams! We’ll pass by the legendary Eagle and Child Pub – a haunt of J.R.R. Tolkien – before arriving at Port Meadow, our favourite part of the tour.We conduct the whole day in a fun, relaxed and friendly manner. If you’re a big Tolkien fan, let us know – we’ll put in some more detail. If you love (or hate) Harry Potter, let us know– we’ll tailor the tour from the start. All our tours are carried out with you, the visitor, in mind.

There’s a reason why so many people use bikes in Oxford! This is one of the best cities in the country for cyclists, with flat terrain, minimal traffic and gorgeous scenery. Moreover, Oxford University has some 38 colleges, spread all over the city. A bike is the perfect way of getting to see all of these dispersed attractions. The idea behind our Bike Tour of Oxford is to show you a geographical range of sites that we simply can’t reach when we go on foot. We can be marvelling at Balliol College one minute, and zipping out to the lovely Port Meadow the next! Unsurprisingly, these are some of our favourite tours to give! On this tour, we’ll talk about: Magdalen College (alma mater of Oscar Wilde) Oxford University Press Pitt Rivers Museum St Johns College University College Port Meadow (for the definitive guide to Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland) The Queen’s College Brasenose College Hertford College The Eagle and Child pub (former haunt of J.R.R. Tolkien) And many more Oxford sites! You’re probably thinking: That sounds like a lot of biking! I’m not sure I can handle all of that! Like all of our tours, our Bike Tour of Oxford includes numerous stops at historic and modern places of interest, so the biking really isn’t as intense or as tiring as you might imagine! This tour is suitable for all participants from 12 years up. A limited number of helmets are available on request.
